The inagural Indy 500 race was held on May 30th 1911. In the field of 40 racers stood Ray Harroun who was sitting behind the wheel of a Marmon Model 32-based Wasp racer which was outfitted with a rear-view mirror. Harroun with relief from Cyrus Patschke went on to win the first Indy 500 even though the offical result were protested. This 14x17 framed collage features an image of Ray Harroun, his Wasp racer, a replica copy of the ticket for that days event as well as a piece of authentic brick from Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
